Japanese studies at UGent

The study programme for Japanese Language and Culture (‘Japanology’) aims to train people who can build bridges between East and West. Since Japan as an economic power occupies an important place in world affairs, people who are familiar with the Japanese language and culture are indispensable in the professional world. Therefore, we offer a varied programme, based on a broad knowledge of languages, culture and history, approached from a critical point of view and with attention to interculturality.
